CORPORATES HIDE PROFITS IN TAX HAVENS
SERCO ended its GP Out-of-Hours contract in Cornwall early after falsifying data and delivering a â€˜short-staffed and substandard serviceâ€™. In Suffolk SERCO announced 137 health job cuts and failed to meet 3 key performance indicators, withdrawing from its contract in September 2015 as unprofitable.
In a joint venture it overcharged the NHS £ Millions for pathology services. SERCO has many contracts across Government. It is currently being investigated by the serious fraud office over concerns of overcharging £ Millions for electronic tagging, by charging prisoners who were either in prison or dead. There have been repeated investigations into claims of sexual and verbal abuse by staff at SERCO-run Yarls Wood immigration removal service.’
